OBJECTIVE: FINLAND

KIIT International School is happy to announce that our 11th grade students Ipshita Shee, Sapnil Mohanty and Prachets Upadhyay have been preselected to participate in the Millenium Youth Camp 2013, funded by the Technology Academy Finland, University of Helsinki and Finland's Science Education Centre LUMA.

The International Millenium Youth Camp is a free of charge programme adressed to young people worldwide interested in mathematics, natural sciences, information technology and other sciences that will be held on 9-16 June 2013 in Helsinki, Finland. http://www.technologyacademy.fi/events/millennium-youth-camp/ The camp focuses on these themes: environmental science and technology; climate change; renewable natural resources and energy; water; information and communication technology and digitalisation; and applied mathematics. It includes lectures, workshops, visits to companies and universities and time for social activities.

The organizers of the international science camp received around 1,000 applications from young people all over the world and 200 teenagers made it to the next round. Only 9 candidates have been preselected from India and 3 of them belong to the same school, KIIT International School, which means that means 1 third of the students selected for the next round come from our school.

Now, preselected students have to submit a project about their chosen topics in sciences. Only if they get selected, they will have the chance to receive educational activities, flights, accommodation and food are free of charge during the next summer in Helsinki, Finland.
