KiiT International School students win Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE – 2017 Awards

The National Innovation Foundation, Govt. of India announced the IGNITE awards on 15th of Oct. 2017, Dr. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday. Looking for Innovations from children of India, the competition invites unaided idea’s for a better country and National development.

Out of a total National entry of over 55 thousand ideas, covering every district of India, 29 project ideas were declared National Winners after a six stage selection process.

Master Ayushman Nayak of Grade – III, KiiT International School and Miss Subhra Suchismita Patel of Grade – XII, brought laurels for the KiiT International School, KiiT University, and the state of Odisha by winning the coveted National awards. Ayushman ideated an ideal smart car that would switch off and stop if traffic or driving rules were not obeyed. Subhra had empathy for the difficult working conditions of the Rag-pickers and designed an intelligent Rag sorting / picking machine.

The KiiT University Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta, blessed the children and wished them well for their careers and life. Dr. Mona Lisa Bal, Chairperson, KiiT International School expressed her satisfaction at the achievement of the school children. She has been striving to build an environment in the school that encourages creativity and innovation.
