KiiT International School hosted an author's meet on 19th December 2013. Eminent authors mr. Ruskin Bond, Dr. Terry O'Brien and Mr. Manoj Das interacted with a cross section of students from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Bilingual writer, Sahitya Academy Award winner and Padmashree awardee interacted with the students on the history of literature . He emphasised on the fact that countries may change in terms of geography, economic conditions, territorial boundaries but human emotion remain as pure and as untouched as always. The essence of writing also remains unchanged largely.

Dr. Terry O'Brien was mesmerizing in his discourse on the art of writing. Form and content need to have a perfect marriage for a writer. Rejection is a reality and budding writers must be willing to live with it. Peppered with humour and interesting anecdotes, students were completely engrossed and unwilling to call it a day.

Mr. Ruskin Bond, in his usual reticent shy manner was a great draw. A writer must be true to himself and must never give up. That is the only recipe for writing. This was his mantra for the youngsters. The welcome address was given by the Chairperson of the School, Dr. Mona Lisa Bal and Deputy Head Ms. Nandita Mishra gave the vote of thanks. Mr. Mohanty, Administrative Officer anchored the event.

A wonderful opportunity that Gen I grabbed with both hands!!
