KiiT International School celebrated the 11th Annual Day on 23rd of December

KiiT International School celebrated the 11th Annual Day on 23rd of December, the likes of which the city had never seen before in a School. The scale, the finesse and the grandeur was unparalleled as hundreds of students showcased their brilliance to foot tapping numbers. The music, the instrumental extravagance and the dances were simply delectable. The tiny tots regaled with their supple ease and the sharp, energetic moves of the older kids simply left the audience - parents and family of the children were scrambling to capture their child's subliminal moment in the ubiquitous phone or their cameras.

After a warm welcome address by the Chairperson, Dr Mona Lisa Bal, the Principal' s report and words of encouragement and wisdom from the guests of honour, Prof Chintamani Mahapatra, Rector, JNU and Mr. Ritesh Mishra, Additional Commissioner, IRS, the evening gathered a special momentum. The Founder, Prof Achyuta Samanta addressed the gathering assuring them that the School would always stand for quality and excellence. Prizes were given to the extraordinary achievers of the School and then the magic unfolded in the grand finale.

One hundred and seventy students trained by instructors from the Shiamak Davar Dance School of Mumbai for over a month swayed, tapped and somersaulted to foot tapping enthralling music. The theme was Around the world and through dance, we travelled from Antarctic to the Americas - South and North, followed by Australia, Europe, Africa and finally Asia - India. The finale had all 170 students dancing on stage, in the aisles and the audience was awestruck at voie de vivre and the spontaneity of the children as they sang, danced and engaged with a three thousand strong crowd.

An evening that we all wished should have never ended was finally signed off with a lavish dinner spread for all the parents. A galactika of exceptionally talented children showed the world that they were the real super stars of the city.
